Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 2026

1. Governing Legal Frameworks

Our platform operates internationally, with our primary physical presence in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. We process personal data in accordance with the Oman Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL - Royal Decree No. 6/2022).

To support our international visitors, collectors, and artists, we also adhere to the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for individuals in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect data that is strictly necessary for providing our curatorial services, facilitating transactions, or responding to your direct inquiries:

  • Contact Information: When you submit our Contact/Enquiry Form, we collect your name, email address, message details, and subject line.
  • Transaction & Ledger Information: When purchasing an artwork, we collect customer contact details (name and email) to update your acquisition and order status.
  • Uploaded Files (Future Scope/Phase 2): CVs, portfolios, and artwork details uploaded during exhibition application workflows.

3. Cookies & Local Storage Disclosures

Our website does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party marketing trackers (such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel) at this time.

We utilize standard, strictly necessary browser Local Storage solely to maintain essential client-side state, specifically:

  • Maintaining items added to your Acquisition Ledger (Shopping Cart) to ensure you do not lose your selections during browsing.
  • Remembering your order status or newsletter preferences locally.

Because this storage is strictly necessary for the core functionality of the platform, it does not require an opt-in consent banner under the Oman PDPL, GDPR, or CCPA.

4. How We Use Your Data

Your personal data is used solely to:

  • Fulfill orders, process acquisitions, and send transactional updates.
  • Respond to curatorial inquiries or general feedback submitted via forms.
  • Prevent fraudulent transactions and secure our infrastructure.

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data with third-party advertisers or external corporations.

5. Your Legal Rights

Depending on your location, you hold the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: The right to request copies of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: The right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate.
  • Erasure: The right to request that we erase your personal data under certain conditions.
  • Withdraw Consent: The right to withdraw your consent to data processing at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact our compliance officer at info@mattisirvioartgalleria.com. We will respond to your request within the legally mandated timeframes.
